Which abilities are named in the preview?
Abyssal Escape abilities let Survivors build a loadout, according to the official game description. For specific Abyssal Escape abilities, the October 16, 2026 Survivor preview names seven in its chapters. Use the index below to find a demonstration, then compare it with the current ability description before choosing a loadout.
The table below is a navigation index to those chapter labels. We have reviewed the metadata and description, not independently tested every ability or verified the footage. In particular, a pair of names in a chapter does not prove that the live game always allows exactly two ability slots.
Ability chapter timestamps
| Timestamp | Names in the creator's chapter label | Video link |
|---|---|---|
| 00:00 | Pistol Shot / Slide | Open chapter |
| 03:25 | Phantom Reflex / Weak Punch | Open chapter |
| 07:00 | Healing Box / Camouflage | Open chapter |
| 12:10 | Phantom Reflex / Slide | Open chapter |
| 16:55 | Fireball / Pistol Shot | Open chapter |
These chapters identify seven distinct ability names, with Pistol Shot appearing twice. That is seven names in this particular preview, not a claim that the entire current game contains only seven abilities.
The repeated names are useful for navigation. Pistol Shot appears alongside Slide at the start and alongside Fireball at 16:55; Phantom Reflex appears with Weak Punch at 03:25 and Slide at 12:10. Choose the chapter that matches the pairing you want to inspect rather than treating two appearances as two different abilities.
Player-reported ability effects
In an October 18 Abyssal Escape Survivor-loadout discussion, players describe how they use abilities during chases. These are attributed community observations, not independently measured values. We omit their uncertain timing and damage numbers.
| Ability | Reported use | Limitation mentioned by the player |
|---|---|---|
| Phantom Reflex | A parry that negates a connected hit and gives a temporary speed boost | Missing is described as much more costly than connecting; one player reports a Furnace exception |
| Weak Punch | A short stun used as a backup | The contributor says it does not provide invulnerability frames |
Loadout examples from players
| Combination discussed | Context in the thread |
|---|---|
| Weak Punch / Reflex | The author describes a parry with a backup stun |
| Metallic Charge / Healing Prayer | One commenter names this pair; another disputes the healing trade-off |
| Metallic Charge / another healing ability | Another player reports a healing pairing without naming the second move |
| Flash Bang / Camouflage | A commenter describes combining a blind with an escape attempt |
Compare these examples with your live ability descriptions. They answer what some players use, not which build everyone should equip.
Healing Prayer and Flash Bang come from that community discussion, not the seven-name preview index. An unnamed healing move is not automatically Healing Box. Keeping those sources separate avoids quietly turning a player's shorthand into a verified official ability name or a complete inventory.
Check the current ability description
An ability name is not enough to infer its current damage, range, healing amount, invulnerability duration, cooldown or key binding. For example, the label Camouflage alone does not tell us which enemies can detect its user or how long its effect lasts.
Likewise, a preview pairing is not evidence of the best build. Choosing a strong combination requires the current mechanics and a clear goal for comparison. We do not have verified live measurements here, so there is no numerical ranking or invented tier list on this page.
Compare a loadout without guessing numbers
First identify the job you want an ability to do, such as supporting a teammate or responding to a chase. Then check its current description for a target, input, cost and failure condition. These are questions to answer in the live build, not effects inferred from an ability's name.
If you test a combination, keep the character, opponent and build context comparable and change one choice at a time. Record successful and missed attempts separately. A player report about a connected parry does not establish what happens on a miss, and a result against one killer does not establish the same interaction against all five showcase entries. We have not performed those tests here.
Relate abilities to the objective
The confirmed Survivor objective is to cooperate to dispel red mist and reduce the escape timer. See the beginner guide for that core loop. Use it as context when inspecting an ability demonstration: distinguish what a player is doing during a chase from what is contributing to the team objective.
The game was described as Alpha in the reviewed Roblox listing, and this video predates the October 17 announcement date. Check the current in-game ability description before treating an early demonstration as a rule for today's build.
Ability questions
Are Abyssal Escape preview pairings a fixed slot rule?
The paired chapter labels do not establish that rule. The live slot count has not been verified here.
Is Metallic Charge covered?
Players discuss Metallic Charge with healing abilities and disagree about its health trade-off. Exact inputs and timings remain unverified here.
Is this a complete ability database?
No. It is a dated index of the available source's named chapters.
Where can I find current changes?
Check the official game page and the linked community. This page does not promise that an old preview's values still apply.
